Che cosa ci sarebbe di strano se qualcuno che avete appena incontrato vi confessasse, chiacchierando, di avere un interesse per la scrittura? A volte penso che a quasi tutte le persone che conosco interessi scrivere. Evidentemente è uno dei sogni nel cassetto più comuni — di solito destinato a rimanere tale. Quando si sente dire che una persona “ha un sacco di interessi”, normalmente si ha l’impressione che questa persona conosca piuttosto superficialmente molti argomenti diversi, scollegati tra loro, senza averne approfondito nemmeno uno. &lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_D1vo3RflPjU/Ssh4i6pZ3zI/AAAAAAAAAH8/u1G-IdCCMtY/s1600-h/impegno-interesse.jpg"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#006600;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388689495402602290" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 259px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 223px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_D1vo3RflPjU/Ssh4i6pZ3zI/AAAAAAAAAH8/u1G-IdCCMtY/s400/impegno-interesse.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Per esempio, non sentireste mai qualcuno dire:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#006600;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;“Beethoven si interessava di musica”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#339999;"&gt;“Shakespeare si interessava alla scrittura di opere teatrali”.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“David Beckham si interessa di calcio”. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;S&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;e qualcuno invece dice di essersi impegnato a fare qualcosa, l’impressione che se ne ricava è completamente diversa. Siamo portati a pensare che questa persona “viva”, “respiri” e “mangi” quella determinata attività. Quando sentite dire che qualcheduno“è impegnato attivamente a raccogliere fondi per un progetto di beneficenza”, sapete bene che sarebbe molto meglio stargli alla larga, se non volete ritrovarvi “costretti” a tirare fuori il libretto degli assegni!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;color:#006600;"&gt;L&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;e persone che seguono le mie lezioni di coaching spesso mi parlano dei propri interessi. La maggior parte di loro ha un elenco, piuttosto lungo, di interessi slegati fra loro, i quali, naturalmente, si ostacolano a vicenda. Non c’è davvero limite al numero di cose a cui una persona possa interessarsi; ma è improbabile che ne venga fuori qualcosa, a meno che questo interesse iniziale non si trasformi in un impegno. Perciò, uno dei primi passi nel processo di coaching è scoprire in che cosa qualcuno sia pronto a impegnarsi.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_D1vo3RflPjU/Ssh6jz8VC2I/AAAAAAAAAIM/tZxDbQFKgXc/s1600-h/1468114560_c12e8fad1f_b.jpg"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388691709806054242" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 288px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 185px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_D1vo3RflPjU/Ssh6jz8VC2I/AAAAAAAAAIM/tZxDbQFKgXc/s400/1468114560_c12e8fad1f_b.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;I&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;l problema degli impegni è che ognuno di noi può averne solo un numero molto limitato. Sì, la parola è proprio limitato — ecco che si ritorna alla questione dei limiti. Gli impegni implicano l’esclusione. Se siamo veramente impegnati in qualcosa, questo implica che stiamo escludendo tutto quello che potrebbe risultare d’intralcio all’implementazione di tale impegno.&lt;br /&gt;Non sto dicendo che ci sia qualcosa di sbagliato nell’avere molti interessi. Le persone senza interessi sono noiosissime. Ma è essenziale capire la differenza che esiste tra essere interessati a qualcosa e impegnati in qualcosa. È l’impegno a fare la differenza, nella vita come nel lavoro.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#006600;"&gt;A&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;vere ben chiari i propri impegni è una parte essenziale del processo decisionale. Passiamo tutta la vita a prendere decisioni — ogni momento. Se non avessimo i nostri impegni, come punto di riferimento, che ci aiutassero a prendere decisioni, queste non sapremmo su cos’altro basarle. Sia le nostre decisioni che le nostre azioni sarebbero casuali.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;S&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;pesso durante il normale e quotidiano processo decisionale — ossia quello che facciamo ogni giorno per decidere — si arriva a una contrapposizione fra cervello reattivo e cervello razionale. Vi sentite strangolati (e suonate come se lo foste). Tanti da sposati o da accoppiati possono comunque sentirsi soli e tanti single possono non esserlo!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#cc0000;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#cc0000;"&gt;Piuttosto, la gente si sente sola se le manca un legame emotivo con gli altri. Sentirsi soli non dipende dalla condizione di accoppiato o meno, ma dalla presenza di un vicino appoggio emotivo, di una persona di cui fidarsi.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#cc0000;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#cc0000;"&gt;Pur soffrendo di bassa autostima si puo' imparare a essere felici da soli.
